A Good Thing

A pre-post post about something I mentioned earlier in December: the Comic Creator’s Alliance donation drive to raise money to fight human trafficking. This event goes live on Monday the 11th and lasts until the 24th. I’ll put up a proper blog about it on Monday, but for now I just wanted to forewarn you that this excellent thing is happening! So be ready to chip in a few bucks if you can, and get an epic donation desktop in return. Check out more about the project here.

In other news, I miss the days when drawing backgrounds meant doodling a horizon line of grass. Hnnngh, the attic and its clutter…

It’s funny, but for me the process was somewhat reversed – I stumbled onto Dovecote Crest trough the Comic Creator’s Alliance, not the other way around.
As a fellow history enthusiast and real life re-enactor (1848-1947, but Romanian history rather than US) I really like the comic, not only for the historical references, but also for the endearing characters, interesting plot (that I guess is mainly the domain of the writer, but it somehow felt stupid to post a separate comment on her half of the page – and in any case, I’m an artist rather than a writer myself, so I’m biased) and least but not least, outstanding art.
Bearing that in mind, I think I will keep my field binoculars trained this way in the future.

Soon, I promise–! Lots of grass!
