So.
So it’s been months and months. I feel so badly for keeping you guys waiting for so long without news, but this has been a pretty huge transitional time for me, with real life and a real job, plus figuring out where I am as an artist post-college and where I’m trying to go. I can’t promise regular updates, but I very much want to get through the rest of these short stories I’ve got scripts for… and hopefully I’ll be able to deliver that, even if it’s a bit slow going. I know the RSS here is broken and I have never been able to figure out how to fix it, but a good way to find me lately is on tumblr (bridgioto.tumblr.com). Again, I’m so sorry for the lack of news. I’ll try not to leave you hanging like that again, even if it’s just a little blog update here once in a while. That said, here we go, to the finish…
I KNEW my faithful checking would pay off. Welcome back! You will make many people happy. And good luck to you and Hailey.
Yay! I knew it too!
Great to see another page – and even greater to hear that you’re alive and seemingly well. I wish you all the best for your post-college life! :-)
By the way: I saw the update in my RSS feed … so it looks like it’s working at least sometimes.
I saw this (and the comic) on the RSS feed as well! Thank you for the update.
I stumbled on your tumblr a few days ago and recognized your art style. I’m so glad you’re going to press on with the comic!
Yayyy so glad!
A couple hndrued comics later, we learn that Ash’s plane never arrived at YVR, and this has all been a dream in Purgatory. That’s never been done before, has it?
Finding this post has solved my problem
HOOOORAAAAAAY WE’RE BACK!!!
I keep the bookmark for your comic in the same folder as Dresden Codak and pear-pear. I figured you’d come back around to this eventually.
Yay! Faithful checking paid off! Glad to see you’re back.
OMG!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! SO GLAD YOU’RE BACK!!
I knew checking was a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!<³3333333333
YEEEEEEEEESS!!! *fist pump* YOU’RE ALIIIVE!!!!! WOOOOOO!!!!! I had a horrible horrible day, and this just… erased it all. I’M SO HAPPY!!!! YAAAAAAY!!!
I’m glad to see that this is back! :D
Even if the updates are slow and irregular, they’ll be worth it. <3
SCREAMS
I’m so happy to see you again! And I’m glad you’re okay, I was worried.
I’ve had a really long, rough week and whenever I need to cheer up I come back here to reread through the comics. You can’t even imagine how excited I was to see this. I almost cried.
So thanks. :)
To the finish?! Noooo! Please tell me it’snot ending soon ;;
I concur with Rick in Mexico–I’m glad my frequent checking has finally paid off! Glad to see you’re back!
So, how are you and Hailey? Interested readers are interested! :)
We’re doing well! I’m settled up in Seattle, animating for Microsoft Game Studios. Hailey is getting her master’s degree in Dramaturgy back in New York :)
Yayyy! This makes me so happy, I’ve been reading this comic since day one, both the writing and the art has always amazed me, hope things go well for you both.
Oh man, so excited to see this update! And I’m glad you linked your tumblr because I spend a fair amount of time lurking on there too so now I can follow you. (And I love the variety of things I’m seeing on your tumblr so far, it’s a whole other side of you as an artist!) Anyway, I’m glad we will get to see the rest of what you have for Dovecote. It is one of the first webcomics I ever started reading, and reading through the archives always makes me smile. :)
YAY! Knew there was a reason I kept checking back! <3!
I'll follow on Tumblr too!
Will there be more?
Probably not for another year…
The first storyline, based on the one-act play Hailey wrote our senior year of high school. During the lead-up to the summer’s main battle reenactment, Charlie Grant finds herself wishing she had a job that didn’t involve pretending to shoot people.
Hey Hailey & Bridget,
Just wanted to let you know I’m still checking back in now and then hoping you guys will update the comic or update us on your lives. Hope all’s well!
Still checking back, just to let you know. I love this comic, the style, the adorable characters, the great story telling. Just saying. I hope you guys are doing alright, and maybe someday this will be updated, or you’ll start something new?!? *winkwinknudgenudge*
You’ve still got readers! Well, me at least. :) Hope you guys are ok. We miss you!
Been a long time

Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time
Seemed appropriate for a historically-themed comic AND for how long it’s been. Hope all is well.
Bro . Pinnex Just got home from the trip and wanted to tell you thank you again for the oripptunuty to be a part of the missions trip. My wife and I had our hearts touched for this difficult and unique mission field. We will defin itley be praying for you luke 18:1Love the Allens
Gotta agree with you, Mark, most girls worth saving are also girls with their own dremas and ambitions. Which means this is the most likely result of any successful heroic rescue
Alas, January is the month of sky-water in L.A. And no one in L.A. can drive in the rain, though it is often auismng to watch them try on oil-slicked freeways (as long as you’re not actually *in* the traffic yourself).
When i was in ottawa viisting fambots it was 30+ degrees and when it rained the fambots looked at me to see my reaction to which i reminded them i’m from London England.. Rain.. no problem. I was more confused by the sun and heat..
Checking in to see if there’s anything new. Is the February ’13 update the last one, or will there be more? Just curious if I should keep the page bookmarked anymore or not.
Ahh this sucks, almost all the webcomics I read have been on hiatus for a few years. Sadness ensues.
I, too, keep holding out hope that someday we’ll get more tales from Dovecote Crest. In the meantime, I thought I should point out that the RSS feed is busted. When I try to subscribe, I get the following error page:
XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: http://dovecotecrest.com/feed/
Line Number 2, Column 1:

Sigh. As I released the mouse button I thought, “Gosh, maybe I ought to see if anyone else has reported this problem first.” And, naturally, once it was too last, I saw that everyone including the author had brought it up already. I’mma put on my dunce cap and go sit in that corner over yonder.
I just wanted to let you know that this comic remains my favorite comic of all time. Perhaps it’s because I, too, was once a tour guide in a museum… or because I once lived in Arkansas… or maybe just because this comic is awesome. Regardless of the reason, I just wanted to let you know that the art and writing just gives me this odd and quiet feeling that makes me very happy. Thank you!
Just wanted to let you know that you still have readers and we still appreciate all the work youve put into this comic.
I follow you on tumblr and all of your art work is obviously great (adventure time, steven universe!!!), but this comic has grown on me in ways I can’t explain. The characters are just so…real. Sometimes I get flashbacks to a scene and crack up laughing for no reason. I appreciate every hour you’ve spent on this comic, on the art, on the character building. So- thank you :)
