Seconded. Have fun being lazy slugs and if I find out you didn’t spend time outside I’ll hunt you both down and smack you around for being really foolish. ;)
A while ago someone recommended a series by Naomi Novak set in the Napoleonic wars, and I took them up on it and tried the first one… I am now in the middle of the fourth one and completely obsessed. They are AMAZING! So thank you, whoever that was; I can’t find the original comment to reply to it.
Not to be nosy, but do you mind if I ask what that series is called? I’ve had a yen for the Napoleonic wars ever since Hailey introduced me to Horatio Hornblower :)
Such a sweet ending, Charlie will probably help DC out a lot too. She’ll do a lot of the stuff like primary document analysis and grant hunting that Jeremy just wouldn’t do.
I agree, Jeremy’s panel 3 face is the best.
And thanks DC, for being around to cheer me up when I need it (I failed my driving test for my liscence yesterday :D) Can’t wait to see the guest comics/art and the start of the new arc!
Watching your storyline develop was like listening to a piece of music by Beethoven. The character-development, followed by the recapitulation at the end, and Charlie giving-up her career… Really gives superb effect that all authors try to achieve. Thanks for writing this!
Okay, I only discovered this comic like 2 days ago (by way of The Dreamer) and I think this is the 4th time I’ve read and reread through this first arc. You guys are AWESOME!!! I did a little re-enacting in college, and loved it. But I think the coolest thing is how you’ve captured the personalities and emotions. (Jeremy is the bestest ever!)
I am really, really looking forward to your continuing work. BTW, are you planning on putting this out as a graphic novel (I saw someone else ask that, but didn’t see an answer)? I would so buy it!
(I’ll stop gushing now :) I’d gush to people at home, but none of them like history much, so I have to do it here instead)
Them’s bedroom eyes, Jeremy.
this comment makes me snicker whenever I see it XD
One of my friends would descrie that look as “Come Hither.” :D
Fantastic ending.
Loved every bit of this arc, and cannot wait for more.
(:

*applause* ^^
Hooray!

Naomi Novik’s Temeraire series (which I, too, would highly recommend): http://www.temeraire.org/
Thanks so much! I’ve got my summer reading now…
This could very well be my favorite page in the ENTIRE comic. I love it! =)

Ok, so their last names are really “Lee” and “Grant”? Ha!
They just ended their own little civil war, didn’t they. ;)
Ok, i never got that till now, amazing :D
Oh god the Temeraire series is FANTASTIC. I think Naomi even has the entire first one up on her site for free.
Jeremy’s face in panel 3 = win XD
lol, yess!!!!!
I sense sloppy makeouts.
And maybe a bit more than that…. After all, that was a very sexy “click” when the door closed.
Ha! Lee and Grant, that’s brilliant! I can’t believe I didn’t notice before!
I totally missed that they were Lee and Grant. That makes me giggle.
YAY! for closing the door. ;)
Eeep! -faints with joy-
This page gave me the warm fuzzies. (LOL, I never noticed the Lee/Grant thing until now, either. Cuteness!)

Lee and Grant? Really? REALLY? Wow.
And Jeremy… You may just beat out the gov. with your facial expressions… just maybe.
ha, the last names…nice
