“… and will think of me as your brother and not as one who stands in the way of your victory.” Aww. Why do I get the feeling that this parallels to what Jeremy tried to do; to make Charlie see that he’s just not another fake battle she’s turning away from back at Dovecoat Crest, but is something more. But he eventually lets her go because he can’t stand in the way of something she’s so happy to do. Poor Jeremy. I hope Charlie realizes that this connects to her and her friends that she left…

This must be the first time I’ve teared up reading a web comic.

You guys are great. I have read such letters, try reading “Little to Eat and Thin Mud to Drink,” edited by Gary Joiner.

There was a Maryland family. The father and all five sons enlisted during the Civil War. Three joined the 1st Maryland Battalion of the Army of Northern Virginia (CSA). Three joined the First Maryland Regiment of the Union Army.

On July 2, 1863, during the Battle of Gettysburg, the two “1st Marylands” fought at Culp’s Hill.

    All six men were killed.

I am tearing up at this and I don’t even feel silly for doing so. Really, this is one of the best web comics I’ve ever read–it walks that perfect line between hilarious and heart-wrenching. I love the coloring, the drawing…thank you for sharing it with the world.
